Pagudpud helped me to find myself again

23 Dec

It was 2 days before my 33rd Birthday and I am at lost. I don’t know where should I regain my strength, I was nowhere. My heart was broken, my mind was confused. I want to take the long road, I want to think, think deeply. And I found myself in the road of the secluded town of Pagudpud.

Pagudpud Arc

It took me almost 12 hours on a bus ride to get to the Boracay of the North. Though my mind was full of worries and my heart was bleeding, I was somehow relieved to see the beauty beyond my reach. From Espana Manila, I rode the pink bus Florida at 3am that has been my refuge to that long journey to get me to another must-see place in Philippines.

Friendly and accommodating people were the one who greeted me when I arrived. It was already late when I got there but the sky was so bright and the night was still so long for me to just take a deep sleep with the waves as my lullabies. I stayed in Agua Seda in Blue Lagoon managed and owned by Tita Tessy- who has been an angel in disguise for me on that trying moments. She welcomed me with a sweet smile and a glorious greeting of Happy Birthday. I was amazed, impressed and so thankful that there are still good people alive like Tita Tessy, who shared her own stories of heartbreaks, travels and moving on.

Agua Seda Resort is just beside Hannah’s in Blue Lagoon. It is very ideal place to stay because aside from the very cost-efficient resort, it is also very laid back and it is truly a home away from home. It is a beachfront that when I woke up I just went out in my room right away and feel the sweet breeze of the ocean. The view is magnificent, the sand is pristine white, and the water is greenish-blue, it is a God’s wonderful creation. And I realized, who am I to complain about this small itch in my heart. It was then time for me to explore the beauty of Pagudpud.

I hired Kuya Ronald to be my tricycle driver and serves as my tourist guide for the wholeday tour.  Our itinerary for the day was: Patapat Viaduct, Saud Beach, Bangui Windmills, Viewing Deck, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, Timmangtang Rock and Bantay Abot Cave. For the wholeday tour it cost me only P1, 000 with 1 tricycle good for 2 persons and with the above destinations, though there some places I chose not to visit because of limited time. You can contact Kuya Ronald at +63 947 4462421 if you want to hire a good driver. I will be writing a separate post about those places I’ve been in my next entry.

Kapurpurawan Rock Formation

This travel truly awakens me who are the most important people in my life. It is good to talk to strangers, meet new people, listen to what they say, embrace possibilities and widen your world. My world doesn’t end with one person alone, I will continue to discover while waiting, waiting for the right person who is willing to share my dreams, not only for a season but for a lifetime. Pagudpud helped me with this journey. I will surely go back in this town. Pagudpud is love.

One of the best road trips I’ve experienced was the Ilocos trail. I wish I had more time to just laze the day away and do nothing in Pagudpud. Maybe in the future =)

Love your pic on the K rock!
